Winona Jane Harris

February 23, 1931 — May 21, 2026

Winona Harris, 95, beloved Granny, spouse, mother, and daughter, was called to her eternal resting place on May 21, 2026. She entered this world on February 23, 1931, in Gotebo, Oklahoma, born to Jurden and Jeanette Brunken.

Winona married the love of her life, Clayburn Harris, on April 16, 1949, after meeting him while he was driving a wheat truck for her brother's company. Together they built a loving marriage that lasted until Clayburn's passing on March 26, 2021.

Winona dedicated 39 years of service to Murphy Manufacturing as a receptionist. Even after retiring, she returned to work on Fridays because she loved staying connected with the people around her. She was honored as Glenpool Citizen of the Year in 2013 for her devotion to her community. Winona also spent many years driving the Redbud Village bus, helping elderly residents get where they needed to go, continuing this service until she was 85 years old.

She is survived by her son, Don Harris and wife Diane; her son, David Harris and wife Laura; and her daughter, Diana McMinn and husband Jimmie. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Jason, Renee, Josh, Aaron, Joshua, Ravynn, and Michelle; 17 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Winona was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clayburn; her parents, Jurden and Jeanette Brunken; her brother, Bill; her sister, Vonita; and her grandchildren Marcus, Logan, and West.

Winona lived a life full of energy, compassion, and love for her family and community. She adored all of her grandbabies and treasured every moment spent with them. She loved crafts and sewing and was especially known for the beautiful Christmas angels she lovingly made and gifted each year, along with her famous Rice Krispies teddy bears for the children in her life. Her caring heart extended beyond her family, as she often kept essentials in her car to give to those experiencing homelessness.

She was always planning vacations and adventures with her grandchildren, cheering from the stands at sporting events for her children and grandchildren, and creating special memories through trips to Bell's Amusement Park and Big Splash. Winona was deeply involved in family gatherings and community activities and was a proud member of the RSESA Women's Chapter.

Winona's kindness, generosity, and joyful spirit touched countless lives. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
