A memorial service honoring and remembering the life of Willie Daniel Ivins will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2018 2PM at Schaudt’s Okmulgee Funeral Service chapel with Pastor David Clawson officiating. Willie passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018. He was 87.
Willie was born March 2, 1930 to Ruth (Warner) Ivins and Harvey J. Ivins in Hoxie, Arkansas, where he was raised.
On December 16, 1958 he married the love of his life, Bertha (Garcia) Ivins in Clovis, New Mexico. Throughout their life they have lived in many places but finally settled down in Okmulgee, Oklahoma in 1980.
Willie was a jack of all trades. He worked as a coal miner for Mid-Continent Coal and Coke, a retired minister from The Church of God of Prophecy and a carpenter.
He was a member of The Church of God in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Willie loved the outdoors. He could be found hunting, fishing for cat fish or camping. Bertha and him enjoyed taking road trips and traveling across the United States. Willie was a straight forward, traditional kind of guy who loved to make people laugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruth(Warner) Ivins and Harvey J. Ivins; brother, Arthur Ivins; and two sisters, Christine Zeda and Joyce Sansevrino.
Survivors are his loving wife, Bertha (Garcia) Ivins; two sons, Billy Ivins and Danny Ivins and his wife, Joyce; and grandchildren, Justin Ivins, Trisha Wilken and Billy Don Ivins. He also leaves four sisters, Freda Malec, Luella McReynolds, Flora Porco, and Bonnie Crosby; and brother, David Ivins.
