Wanda Louise Holladay, age 85, went home peacefully to be with the Lord on August 22, 2025, in Bixby, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on December 11, 1939, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Howard Lex Busby and Billie Glover.
Wanda lived a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. Since 2017, she made her home with her daughter, Donna, and son-in-law, Stan, where she filled their days with her gentle presence, tireless energy, and endless love. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who blessed everyone around her with kindness and warmth.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Courtney and husband Stan; grandchildren, Stephanie Stimson (partner Todd Dunn) of Ringold, Oklahoma, Stephen Stimson (Kalissa) of Jenks, Oklahoma, and Jessica Lea (Eric) of Coweta, Oklahoma; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Zachary Keener, Nicholas Keener, Kynder Stimson, Gentry Stimson, Aspyn Stimson, and Landon Lea. Wanda is also survived by her siblings, Julia McKnight of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Howard Busby of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Leonard Busby (Melanie) of Leonard, Oklahoma, and Cindy VonAschwege of Houston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Ray Holladay, Sr., her son, Donald Ray Holladay, Jr.; her mother and father as well as sisters, Merry Jane Watkins and Mary Christine Busby and her brother, Harold Busby.
Wanda will be remembered for her selfless heart and her unwavering devotion to her family. She was the best mom and homemaker, keeping her home immaculate, tending her gardens, and finding joy in antiques, garage sales, and the treasures of life’s simple pleasures. She loved her Pomeranians, and she loved staying busy—whether working in the yard, caring for her home, or joining her husband in his woodworking projects by carefully staining and finishing each piece he crafted.
Wanda was deeply spiritual, a woman of prayer, faith, and gentleness. She never spoke an unkind word and always gave with an open heart. Sweet as can be, hardworking, and endlessly loving, she was truly a blessing to everyone who knew her.
Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in her family and all who had the privilege of sharing life with her.
Wanda will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, 1:30pm, Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
