Thomas Masterson

Tommy Masterson passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, at his home in Glenpool, OK at the age of 79. Tommy was born on January 10, 1945, to Tom and Hattie Masterson. He met the love of his life, Peggy (Stephenson) Masterson in 1958. They married on March 5, 1965.

After marriage, Tommy and Peggy settled near his boyhood home on the Sand Springs Line. They welcomed 4 children, Tonya, Tammy, Shelly, and Thomas III who they raised with lots of love and patience.

Tommy was a graduate of Tulsa Central High School where he excelled in basketball for coach Eddie Sutton. He worked in construction and later as a delivery driver for a manufacturing company. He loved the water, whether it was a swimming pool, a lake, or the ocean. His favorite vacation spot was Destin, FL. That was where he was always the happiest, playing in the ocean and being surrounded by his family. He took great joy in making us all laugh, he loved fart jokes and never hesitated to ask one of his grandchildren to pull his finger. He was always the first person everyone would call if something needed to be moved or fixed. It might take him all day to fix it, but it would get fixed.

His most prized possession was his family. His relationship with his grandchildren was truly special. Jordan, Channing, Cady, Ally, Kendall, Truett, Braden, Kale and his great grandson Theo were the light of his life. He took great pride in all his children and grandchildren's accomplishments and loved spending time with all of them.

Tommy was preceded in death by his daughter, Tonya, as well as his parents and siblings.

One of the best things he ever came up with was his personal theme song that he'd jokingly sing: "Hold that tiger! Hold that tiger! There goes that Tomcat from the Sand Springs Line!"

We'll miss you Tomcat.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, June 22 at the Glenpool Conference Center from 12 PM to 2 PM. The conference center is located at 12205 S. Yukon, Glenpool, OK 74003.
