Terry Joe Burns, age 60, passed away on January 1, 2026. He was born on February 8, 1965, in Los Angeles, California, to Ernest Burns and Catherine McCoy.

Terry was a genuinely happy soul who brought warmth and laughter wherever he went. He was loving, caring, and endlessly funny, with a heart that always put others before himself. A hard worker through and through, Terry was known for thinking of everyone around him and making sure they felt comfortable, valued, and welcome.

For many years, Terry served as the General Manager at CiCi's Pizza, where he became a local legend known affectionately as "the CiCi's Pizza Man." It was there that he met the love of his life, Erika. Erika often shared the story of their first meeting-how she and her sister came in to apply for a job on a day when Terry was having a rough day and came across as rude. Despite that, Erika submitted her application. Wanting to make things right, Terry made sure he personally interviewed her so he could apologize. That moment marked the beginning of a beautiful love story. Terry's ability to recognize his mistakes and care deeply about others was one of his many defining traits.

Family meant everything to Terry. When his daughter Sarah was young, Terry, Erika, and Sarah would turn up the music and dance together around the house on weekends, filling their home with joy and laughter. They also shared a treasured Christmas tradition of meeting Adam, Erin, and Erin's mother for dinner at Andolini's, followed by ice skating-memories that will forever live in their hearts.

Terry was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan and had a passion for collecting antiques. One cherished family memory is spending evenings together on the patio, string lights glowing, the fire pit lit, music playing on the radio, and Terry at the grill barbecuing dinner. He also loved visiting his sister and brother-in-law's ranch, where he found peace, laughter, and togetherness.

Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Erika Burns; his daughter, Sarah Burns; and his sister, Tammy Smisek, and her husband, Ron.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Burns and Catherine McCoy, and his stepmama, Carol.

Terry Joe Burns will be remembered for his kindness, humor, generosity, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. His presence was a gift, and his memory will live on in the countless lives he touched.
