Carolyn Sue Osmond

Carolyn Sue Osmond, dearly loved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on August 14, 2026, at the age of 94.

Sue was born on March 10, 1932, in Atwood, Oklahoma, to Agnes and Ira Blackburn. She was one of ten children, with six sisters and three brothers, all of whom she adored. She attended Atwood schools, where she loved playing softball and basketball.

After graduating from high school, Sue took college courses at East Central University before beginning work at the Hughes County Extension office. She later opened a gas station and diner with her brother in Wetumka, Oklahoma. It was there that she met a highway patrolman named John Osmond. They married, beginning a life together that would take them and their family to communities across Oklahoma as John fulfilled his duties with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

John had three children, John, Judy, and Donnie, and Sue helped raise them, loving and treating them as her own. Together, John and Sue later adopted three children: Donna in 1962, Kay in 1964, and Bill in 1967.

Sue devoted her life to her family. Being a wife, mother, and grandmother was her greatest work and joy. She was a constant, positive influence on everyone she met and was always supportive of John and his various business ventures. She always served as the family bookkeeper helping manage the family's many endeavors.

Sue loved sports of all kinds, but she was especially fond of the Oklahoma Sooners and the OSU Cowboys. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her positive spirit, and the love she freely gave to those around her.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Hill of Denver, Colorado; her son, Bill and his wife DeRhonda of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and her grandchildren, Justin Godwin, Jenifer Butler, Jacob Hall and Kaylin Hall, Carly Keller, and Bryce, Blake, and Lauren Osmond. She is also survived by her great-grandson, Carson Keller. Sue was preceded in death by her husband, John, and her daughter, Kay Lynn.

She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
