Steven Brent Hildebrand passed from this life with his devoted family by his side on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the age of 71.
Steve was born on August 20, 1954, in Carnegie, Oklahoma, to Carl and Barbara (Rhodes) Hildebrand. He met the love of his life, Debbie Warnock, and the two embarked on a 45 year marriage at Carbondale Assembly of God in West Tulsa. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, friendship, and family.
Steve was a man of quiet strength and deep care for those he loved. A natural caregiver, he was always attentive to the needs of his family, offering support, guidance, and steady reassurance. He cherished time spent with his family above all else and took great joy in being present for those he loved.
An avid outdoorsman, Steve loved hiking Colorado's 14ers, embracing both the challenge and beauty of the mountains. He enjoyed playing golf, running, and spending time with family, through vacations, holidays, and time together at the lake. He was a committed grandfather, attending countless soccer games, concerts, and recitals. Above all, he made himself available to the people he loved. He was counted on by many to provide not only guidance, but also physical assistance through moving help, building projects, and groundskeeping.
Steve earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Oklahoma State University and went on to have a distinguished career in finance. He retired in 2008 following a 21-year career with Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, where he served his final 10 years as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles with Franklin Supply Company from 1980 to 1987, including Controller and Vice President of Finance, and earlier worked as an Audit Supervisor for Coopers & Lybrand. After retiring, Steve served on the board of directors for Unit Corporation and several private company boards and advisory boards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Barbara Hildebrand.
Steve's legacy lives on through many loving memories with his adoring wife Debbie Hildebrand; his children, Ashley Lamb (Colin), Megan Walters (Harrison), and Daniel Hildebrand (Cate); his cherished grandchildren, Fiona Lamb, Eliza Lamb, Oliver Lamb, Robyn Walters, Adrian Walters, Hallie Hildebrand, and Gwen Hildebrand; and his sister Diane Arocha (Phil), along with many other loving relatives and an extensive network of friends.
