Steve held offices in many printing organizations and served in the industry with his time and talents. He coached his children in flag football and softball. His advice to coaching parents would be to "serve as an umpire at least one time in your life".

He is survived by his wife Edwina (Winnie), his daughter, Elizabeth and husband Brad Scott of Waurika, Oklahoma, and son, Peyton, and wife Shaylene Chatham of Tulsa. They have five grandchildren: Lodge and Houston Scott of Waurika and Ellyn, Kathryn, and Harrison Chatham of Tulsa. Steve had a loving extended family which included many cousins and friends.
Winnie and Steve are native Houstonians but moved to Waurika, Oklahoma in 2020 to be closer to family. Steve's hobby was working with model trains and was given the name "Choo-Choo" by his oldest grandchild, Lodge. Outside of trains, his hobbies included golf, watching game shows, and cheering for the Little League World Series and Oklahoma State Cowboys. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, a 32nd Degree Mason.
