Sherrill Ann McClure, 81, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 24, 1944, in Tulsa to Quinton Theodore and Dorothy Cook Muggy, and spent her entire life in the city she cherished.
Sherrill was a proud graduate of Rogers High School. She dedicated over 30 years to the same job and made her home in the same neighborhood for more than 50 years. Her life was rich with enduring friendships—some dating back to elementary school—and filled with travel, volunteer work, and countless memories made right in Tulsa.
Sherrill’s home was always warm and welcoming—the place for holidays, football games, and birthdays. Everyone loved gathering around her table for a home-cooked meal, and her house truly felt like home to everyone. Sherrill’s style was as bold and lively as her personality.
She loved bright, colorful outfits, always paired with jewelry and a handbag that matched just right. Her laugh was unforgettable and contagious, and she had a witty sense of humor. No matter what life threw her way, she had a gift for finding joy through it all. She was full of life, quick with a joke and made you feel like an old friend from the moment you met. She had a natural ability of making everyone feel loved and at home around her.
She will be forever remembered and cherished as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Sherrill is survived by her daughter Jill Taylor (James); grandchildren Lexi Norell (Josh), Olivia Waller (Mason), Riley Taylor, and Kali Pierce (Jerrett); great-grandchildren Cora, Ruby, and Emma Norell; sister Judy Moydell; and in-laws Roger and Mary Ruth, Sandra and Arthur Johnson, and Robert and Rebecca Marriott, along with their families.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Steve McClure, her son Brett Patterson, her sister Bobette Bell, and nephews Jeff McClure and Keaton Marriott. Sherrill’s life was one of joy, contentment, and steadfast love.
She will be deeply missed and forever honored and loved for her deeply impactful life to those who knew her.
