Sally Kay Ryan

April 7, 1940 — October 27, 2025

Sally Kay Ryan, 85, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on April 7, 1940, in McAlester, Oklahoma, to Keith and Betty Clemens.

Sally lived a life defined by kindness, humor, and love. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Susie Cooper (Jeff); her son, Jim Snell; and her siblings, Clifford Clemens, Betty McMahon, and Charles Clemens.

She is survived by her devoted husband and best friend, Bill Ryan, with whom she shared a truly special and loving relationship. Their bond was one of deep affection, laughter, and unwavering care for one another.

Sally is also survived by her children, Sally Matthews and Christy Becker (Jono); her beloved grandchildren, Marlee Frankenfield, Mia Becker, Kade Becker, Jeff Cooper (Brittany), and Scott Cooper; and her great-granddaughter, little Susie.

For many years, Sally worked as an aide for Union Public Schools, where she cared for special needs students with patience, warmth, and an open heart. Her nurturing nature touched countless lives-she was the kind of person who made everyone feel seen and loved.

At home, Sally was known for her compassion toward all creatures, from her family pets to the neighborhood animals. She lovingly cared for her cat, Ms. Kitty, and could often be found feeding the geese and stray animals-even when it wasn't exactly encouraged by the golf course nearby.

Sally had a great sense of humor, a generous heart, and a deep devotion to her family. She was "the mom of all moms," always putting others before herself and creating a home filled with warmth, love, and laughter.

More than anything, Sally lived for her grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she poured her heart into every moment she spent with them-whether it was cheering them on at events, sharing stories, or simply being a constant, loving presence. Her pride in them was boundless, and her love will continue to guide them for the rest of their lives.

Her gentle spirit and her boundless kindness will be remembered and treasured forever by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will live on through her family and all the lives she touched.

A celebration of Sally's life will be held in a couple of weeks, please check back for additional details.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to one of Sally's favorite charities, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org
