Ruth Ann Bell

Ruth Ann Bell passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the age of 88.

Ruth was born on January 29, 1938, in Mounds, Oklahoma, to John and Dora Driscoll. She was raised in the Glenpool area, where she attended Glenpool Public Schools and enjoyed playing basketball.

On October 1, 1955, Ruth married the love of her life, Iven Bell, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Together they shared more than 70 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and service to others. Since 1954, Ruth and Iven were members of First Baptist Church of Glenpool.

For more than 40 years, Ruth owned and operated Glenpool Daycare, where she lovingly cared for and nurtured generations of children. What began as a business quickly became her true calling. She helped shape countless young lives, leaving a lasting impact on families throughout the Glenpool community.

Ruth was known for her spunky personality, fiery red hair, and strong-willed spirit. Beneath that spirited exterior was a deeply caring woman whose love for her family knew no bounds.

She found great joy tending her garden, where her flowers flourished alongside her tomatoes and squash. Ruth was also an exceptional cook, and her homemade coconut pie became a cherished family favorite that will be remembered for years to come.

More than anything, Ruth treasured her family. She delighted in every opportunity to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating memories that will continue to live on in their hearts.

Ruth leaves behind her devoted husband, Iven Bell; her son, Jimmy Bell; her daughters, Susan Bruner and Linda Roberts; six beloved grandchildren, April Bell, Brian Bell, John Bruner, Crystal Tencleve, Rachel May, and Sarah Roberts; and sixteen cherished great-grandchildren, her brother; Lee Driscoll along with many other relatives and dear friends who will forever miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dora Driscoll; her granddaughter, Michelle Bruner; and her brothers, John E. Driscoll, and Walter Ray Driscoll.

Ruth's legacy is one of faith and family. Her influence lives on not only in the family she cherished, but also in the countless children whose lives she helped shape over four decades. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
