Roy Haskell Reeves

Roy Haskell Reeves, born on April 19, 1939, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma, departed from this world on November 8, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love of his family. Roy was 84 years old.


Roy is survived by his loving children: Shawn Curl (Bruce), Heidi Reeves, Jill Gagliardi (Kyle), and Matt Reeves (Amanda). His legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Abigail Fain, Payton Gagliardi, and great-grandson Kyson Taylor. Roy is also survived by his brother, Barry Reeves, sister, LuAnn Duderstadt, and a host of other relatives. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Monna Raye Clark Reeves, and their triplet infants.


Roy was a man of many talents and passions. An avid antiquer, he had an impeccable eye for discovering treasures. His woodworking skills were nothing short of amazing, crafting pieces that will stand as testaments to his craftsmanship for generations to come.


In addition to his creative pursuits, Roy was a dedicated coach and an ardent fan of the OU Sooners. He found excitement on the drag racing scene, leaving his mark behind the wheel of a '59 Corvette. Professionally, he excelled as a petroleum engineer and business owner. Roy's entrepreneurial spirit led him to own a gift shop in Tulsa and restaurant and marina at Grand Lake.


A true jack of all trades and master of each, Roy demonstrated exceptional prowess in sports, lettering in all he played. His culinary skills were also renowned, particularly for his skill in smoking amazing ribs, leaving a lasting impression on the palates of those fortunate enough to savor his creations.


Roy Reeves graduated from Cushing High School in 1957, setting the stage for a life filled with achievement, adventure, and love. On February 19, 1960, he married the love of his life, Monna Raye Clark Reeves, and together they built a life brimming with shared passions and enduring companionship.


Not only a man of diverse talents, Roy was also an avid dog lover, finding joy and companionship in the loyal canine friends that graced his life.


Roy Haskell Reeves will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His indomitable spirit, zest for life, and the love he shared with family and friends will be cherished in their hearts forever. May he rest in eternal peace.

Viewing for Mr. Roy Haskell Reeves will be held 2:00pm-6:00pm, Sunday, November 12, 2023, the family will be receiving friends from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Schaudt Funeral Service, 5757 South Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74145. Graveside services will be held 1:00pm, Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Cushing, Oklahoma.
