Ron was born on September 25, 1940, In Salt Lake City, Utah, to the late Mark Lewis and Margaret Arlene Rollins. He spent part of his growing years in Oregon. Ron often reflected upon his childhood education on having been taught by the "Irish nuns" and how good that education was for him. He exhibited exceptional Intelligence and curiosity, which would go on to lead him to a life of continual learning.

Upon graduating high school, Ron attended and graduated from the University of Utah. After college he entered the Air Force on September 21, 1962, in Portland, Oregon. While stationed in Vietnam, he played a vital role as the Munitions Control Officer, overseeing all aircraft's munitions to ensure the safety and success of his fellow servicemen. Ron served duty stations in England, Hawaii, and Biloxi, Mississippi.

After his military career Ron's passion for education led him to pursue a master's degree in computer programming from the University of Southern Mississippi. His expertise in the field enabled him to work for corporations in California and Utah.

Ron's commitment, leadership, and dedication to his duty earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and superiors throughout his military career. He was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. He transitioned in 1978 and served in the Air Force Reserve until 1984 and retired after devoting his life and service to our country for over 20 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Margaret, grandmother, Stella Mae Coates, and brothers, Scott, Kenny, and Craig, and friend of many years, Christine Parker.

Aside from his military career, Ron was a loving and devoted family man. He is survived by his daughter, Julie Anne Garick and husband Chris, and his son, Michael Thomas Rollins, sisters, Kim Arlene Kurtz and Leslie Elaine Kurtz, brother, Robert Curtis (Bob) Rollins, and wife Michal. Ron's love extended to his cherished grandchildren, Reed Garick, Jack Garick, and Gregory Rollins and wife Lauren, as well as his great-granddaughter, Sylvia Rollins. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, who will forever be grateful for the love, wisdom, and support he provided.
