Robert Leroy Searcy, lovingly known as Bob, passed from this life on December 13, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 80. He was born on July 24, 1945, in South Gate, California, to Orvan Robert Searcy and June Maxine Woodward.
Bob was born and raised in California, spent time living in Kentucky, and later made Tulsa his home in 2016. Wherever he lived, he built meaningful connections and lasting friendships through his kindness, generosity, and devotion to others.
Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was most proud of his family, and of the life he shared with his beloved wife, Hubertina "Tina" Leonarda Searcy. Their love story was truly extraordinary, rooted in faith, commitment, and a deep affection that never faded. Bob spoke often of Tina and treasured their memories together, holding her close in his heart every day. Now, five years to the day after her passing, Bob joins her once again, reunited in eternal peace.
A man of strong Catholic faith, Bob lived his life guided by devotion, routine, and service. His faith was not only something he believed, but something he practiced daily through compassion, humility, and care for others. Even in his final days, Bob remained concerned for those around him, always placing the needs of others before his own.
Bob served in the United States Army in his early years, an experience that shaped his discipline and sense of responsibility. Following his military service, he built a career he was deeply proud of, dedicating 30 years to the United States Postal Service. His commitment to hard work and reliability was evident to all who knew him.
When not working, Bob found joy in life's simpler moments. He was an avid reader with a love for all types of literature, and he had a deep appreciation for music, especially classical music. He enjoyed thoughtful conversation and valued the time spent connecting with family and friends, often for hours at a time.
Bob was known throughout his family for his kindness and generosity. He was remarkably organized and had an exceptional memory, remembering names, dates, and milestones with ease. His thoughtful nature and gentle humor left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Hubertina Leonarda Searcy; his sons, Robert Johannes Searcy and Garrett Evan Searcy; his sister, Pamela Sue Searcy; and his parents, Orvan Robert Searcy and June Maxine Woodward.
He leaves behind many loving memories to be cherished by his family: granddaughter, Hubertina Kay Searcy Agnitti, and her husband, Zakary Agnitti, and his great-grandson, Theodore Garrett Agnitti, all of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; his sister, Bonnie Lofton and her children of California; his cousin, Sharel Mayberry and her husband, Alan, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Bob will be remembered for his genuine love, gentle humor, steadfast faith, and unwavering devotion to his family. His life was one of service, love, and deep belief, a legacy that will continue through all who were blessed to know him.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May the soul of the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.
