Robert B. Houston

Robert B. Houston, age 83, went to be with his Lord Saturday, April 8, 2006 at the Claremore Veterans Center in Claremore, Oklahoma.
Mr. Houston was born September 24, 1922 to Phillip W. Houston and Harriett E. Dolbon Houston in Greenwood, Delaware. He graduated from Greenwood High School and enlisted into the United States Army September 17, 1943. Mr. Houston received the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medial and was honorably discharged March 17, 1946.
In 1948 Mr. Houston studied and passed the requirements to become a minister. In 1956 he started working as a postal carrier for United States Postal Service. He retired after 13 ½ years of service.
In his space time he enjoyed going to yard sales and attending the senior citizens center. Mr. Houston moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1960 coming from California. Mr. Houston attended Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Mr. Houston is survived by eight children - one daughter: Ruth Houston of Milton, Delaware; seven sons: John and his wife, Kathleen of Fort Worth, Texas; Robert and his wife, Linda of Anchorage, Alaska; David and his wife, Charlene of Mounds, Oklahoma; Mark and his wife, Gale of Coweta, Oklahoma; Phillip and his wife, Larissa of Vass, North Carolina; Daniel and his fiancé, Angela Moore of Perkins, Oklahoma; Steve and his wife, Becky of Georgetown, Delaware; four sisters: Mary, Elise and Harriett Houston of Greenwood, Delaware and Florence McKinney of Pennsylvania along with ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren
A private family service will be held at the family's convenience.
