It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rilma, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend. Born on August 15, 1950, to Rilma and David Slocum, Rilma's life was a testament to joy, strength, and unwavering love for her family and friends. She left this world peacefully after courageously battling long-standing medical issues, surrounded by those she cherished most.
Rilma's life was marked by her deep love for travel and her infectious passion for all things Disney. She was particularly fond of Grumpy, a character that brought her countless smiles and laughter. Her travels took her to many places, each journey adding chapters to her rich and fulfilling life story.
In 2000, Rilma found her soulmate in Steven Born, with whom she shared a beautiful and loving marriage. Their union, which began on November 26, was a cornerstone of her happiness. Together, they built a life filled with affection, adventure, and mutual respect.
Family was the center of Rilma's world. She is survived by her devoted husband, Steven, and her son, Mark, who carries forward her legacy of kindness and love. Her sisters, Mildred, Sandy, and Betty, remember her as a steadfast and caring sibling who brought light into their lives with her warmth and humor.
Rilma dedicated many years to the Bank of Oklahoma, where she worked diligently before enjoying a well-earned retirement. Her colleagues remember her not only for her professionalism and dedication but also for her generous spirit and infectious laughter.
A service to honor and celebrate Rilma's life will be held on October 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Lake United Methodist Church in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Friends and family are invited to gather at 7750 W 14th St, Tulsa, OK, to pay their respects and share their cherished memories of a remarkable woman who touched so many lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Rilma's memory, reflecting her lifelong commitment to kindness and giving.
Rilma's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Her legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed, and her memory will be eternally cherished.
