Richard Leon Greene of Okmulgee passed away Monday, January 29, 2018, at his home with his loving family by his side. Richard was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 9, 1948 to Leon Greene and Evelyn (Tarrent) Greene. Richard shared his fond memories of growing up in Tulsa and the many trips to Jet, Oklahoma visiting family. A favorite memory was playing baseball under the watchful eye of his dad as coach.

He joined the Navy at 17 and served his country for several years in Vietnam. In 1972 Richard married the love of his life, Nancy Parrish.
In 1976 Richard and Nancy moved their family to Okmulgee where he started a successful career with Kelco. After retirement Richard spent his time playing tennis as a member of the USTA, where his team traveled and in 2003 won a championship in Tucson, Arizona.

Richard loved playing the piano and guitar and shared his love of music with family, friends, and children. He shared in all his children’s activities, spending many hours at the baseball field watching Dallas, cheering on basketball games and pacing the fence at Natalie and Ami’s tennis matches. Nate, Ty, Abby, Presley, and Matthew loved and admired their grandfather. He loved them wholeheartedly. He never missed an opportunity to watch their events, sports, play in the yard, or take them on a wagon ride. He was so proud of both his children and grandchildren.
