Richard "Bo" Arnold Foley, 92, of Sand Springs, passed away April 29, 2026, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his children.
Bo was born October 13, 1933, at his home in Sand Springs to the late Harry Foley and Winonda (Wilson) Foley. Bo grew up in the Lake Station area and was a graduate of Charles Page High School. He enlisted in the Army after graduating high school, completing his basic training at Fort Chaffee in Arkansas and spending two years there as a drill sergeant. He married the love of his life, Janice McDaniel, on November 4, 1955, and they spent 61 years together until her passing in 2016. From this union came their two daughters, Angela and Kim.
Being a man who was used to working with his hands, Bo and Janice opened their own business, B & D Automotive. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to fix just about anything. After running the mechanic shop for several years, his love of fishing enticed him to add fishing tackle to their shop, later changing the name of the business to B & D Automotive and Tackle. His hands built not only a successful career, but also a life centered around providing for and supporting his family. They ran B & D for 31 years before retiring.
An avid outdoorsman, Bo was a member of the Keystone Bass Club and fished with them for many years. In addition to fishing, Bo enjoyed hunting, and spent much time dove hunting with good friends, family, and his brother in Kansas. Deer hunting with his sons-in-law and grandson was also a treasured time for Bo. He enjoyed spending time together as a family, cooking, playing horseshoes, and having bonfires.
He was a proud citizen of the Choctaw Nation. He enjoyed attending the events hosted in Tuskahoma by the Choctaw Nation, frequently attending their Veteran's Day events. He proudly displayed his heritage throughout his home and daily life.
Bo was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Janice; his parents, Harry and Winonda; his brother, Jack; sisters, Anita "Skeet" Pulliam, and Gloria "Toodle" Hedges.
Bo is survived by his daughters, Angela Goleman and her husband, Russell, and Kim Jones and her husband Chris; his grandchildren, Heather Willis, Darci Merritt and her husband, Heath, and Bo Jones and his wife, Haley; his great-granddaughters, Rylee Willis and Avery Merritt; his companion, Eleanor Jessee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service & Cremation Care Centers, 1329 East 151st Street, Glenpool, Oklahoma 74033. Family and friends are invited to share kind words, special memories, and condolences online at www.schaudtfuneralservice.com.
