Ramona "Jeanie" Barnhart, 83, of Glenpool, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026.
Born on February 20, 1943, in Yale, Oklahoma, Jeanie was the beloved daughter of Taul and Millie Curtis. After graduating from high school, she continued her education by attending business school, preparing for a career defined by dedication and hard work.
Jeanie spent many years working for TV Guide, where she was employed from 1988 until her retirement in the early 2000s. Following her retirement, she devoted herself to caring for her father until his passing, a reflection of her loving and selfless nature. She later returned to the workforce, serving in the detention center at Glenpool Public Schools until her retirement in 2015.
Jeanie treasured time spent with family and friends. She looked forward to class reunions in Oilton, Oklahoma, where she enjoyed reconnecting with lifelong friends and reminiscing about cherished memories. She loved gathering with "her girls" for dinners, watching movies-especially those featuring her favorite handsome actors-and making memories with those she loved most.
A faithful member of Glenpool First Baptist Church, Jeanie found great joy in her church family. She especially cherished the friendships she shared with her Sunday School class, whose fellowship and encouragement meant so much to her throughout the years.
Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, Taul and Millie Curtis; her brother, Vic Curtis; and her niece and nephew, Charly and Kelli Schell.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her daughter, Tara Wyer; her son, Cole Barnhart and wife Becky; her beloved grandchildren, Hannah Wyer, Ethan Barnhart, Abigail Barnhart, Brooke Barnhart, Skyler Garrett, and Blake Simmons; her siblings, Julie Cargill, Nancy Taylor, Marci Morrow, and Ric Curtis; ex-husband Charles E. Barnhart; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and her treasured church family.
Jeanie's kindness, unwavering devotion to her family, and gentle spirit touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial service to honor the life of Jeanie will be held at the First Baptist Church, Glenpool, OK at 11:00 on Saturday, August 15th.
