Penny Ann Mattingly

Aug 11, 1966 — Jul 30, 2026

Penny Ann Mattingly passed away with loving family by her side on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the age of 59.

Penny was born on August 11, 1966, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Roy and Margaret (Johnson) Ledford. She later met the love of her life, Joe Mattingly, and together they shared many years filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Throughout her life, Penny was known for her strong work ethic and willingness to do whatever job was needed. She worked as a phlebotomist for RMA, laid asphalt, served as a school bus driver, worked as a school cook, and even drove a dump truck, proudly holding her CDL. No matter where she worked, Penny was dependable, hardworking, and never afraid to tackle a challenge.

Outside of work, Penny had a fun-loving personality and enjoyed the simple things that made her smile. She adored Garfield and collected anything related to the lovable orange cat. She also loved Tweety Bird and Tinker Bell, and the color green was always her favorite. These little joys reflected her playful spirit and brought happiness to those who knew her.

Above all else, Penny loved her family. Her greatest joy came from spending time with those she loved, especially her children, grandchildren, and her beloved fur babies, who were treasured members of the family.

Penny was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Ledford; her sister, Mary Maupin; her sister, Bengie Campbell; and her brother, Jimmy Helton.

She leaves behind many loving memories with her devoted husband, Joe Mattingly; her son, Brian McCamey and wife Jessica; her daughters, Katelin McCamey-Flint and husband Patrick, and Robyn Mattingly; Brother Frank Ledford and wife Sharon. Brother Orvel Ledford and wife Terri. Brother Roy Ledford and wife Kathy. Brother Bill Ledford and sister Michelle Ledford-Welch, her grandchildren, Brian "JJ" McCamey, Baylee McCamey, Alyssa Teague, Cameron Teague, Jaxson Teague, Isla Teague, Landon Miller, and Maci Miller; and her cherished fur babies, Sandy, Lucy, Ariel, Remy, and Luna, along with many other loving relatives and a host of friends.
