Paul Sandstrom

November 29, 1943 — September 8, 2025

Paul Vincent Sandstrom, 81, died after a brief illness on Monday, September 8. Paul was born in Clarksville, Tennessee to Sadie Crossman and William P Taylor on November 29, 1943, and was raised in Springfield Massachusetts where he graduated from Springfield Technical High School, later joining the Air Force. After the Air Force Paul went on to Tulsa Junior College, followed by Oklahoma State University, ultimately achieving his Master's Degree in Psychology from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah.

Paul was a very active parishioner at Holy Family Cathedral and was a member of the Knights of Columbus holding a 4th degree membership with the Knights. Paul was also a member of MENSA. He worked for many years with the Office of Juvenile Affairs, first as a Psychological Clinician, then in the Juvenile Services Unit.

Paul loved camping and the colder the better! He would visit Osage State Park with his daughter Chris while telling stories of yesteryear and how big his fires were! Paul was a great storyteller and would regale the family with wonderful memories of his youth and college days. He was known for his great fondness for pets, especially his dogs and cats.

Paul is survived by his wife Anna Sandstrom, his daughter Christina Sandstrom and his two grandsons Michael Barry and Jacob Barry of the home, his stepdaughters Rachel Koehler, Sarah Jameson and her husband, Mark and step grandchildren, Leah and Blake Jameson. He is also mourned by his sister Sandra Fish of Owego New York; his long-time friends Stephanie Minami and the late Sarge William Ryan.

There will be a Memorial Mass at Holy Family Cathedral at a later date. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Unity Learning Academy of Tulsa Oklahoma. Paul believed all children could learn and grow and was dedicated to helping the children at Unity do just that.
