Patricia Hines

December 8, 1952 — April 14, 2024

Patricia (Patty) Hines was born on December 8, 1952 in Henryetta Oklahoma to Jack and Mary Hines. Patty was not only the apple of their eye but the namesake of their business, The Patty Ann Restaurant, and later the Patty Ann Steak House. By her own admission, she was a "little" bit spoiled and enjoyed an idyllic childhood surrounded by a large extended family, many friends and a menagerie of pets.

Patty was taught to make change by her grandfather at age five, so as one might suspect, she worked off and on at the Restaurant growing up, then at the steak house even after she graduated from high school and moved to Tulsa.

In Tulsa Patty worked in retail establishments such as Renberg's, Skaggs, Albertson's and in the Med-X corporate office. A surprising pivot took place in late 2004 when she went to work at OU-Tulsa. Even she couldn't believe the transition! What she lacked in computer skills she more than made up in people skills.

The time during 1983-1994 was dubbed "the softball years". Patty loved her time playing softball, saying they were the best years of her adult life. After the softball years were over, she enjoyed fishing, even purchasing a pontoon boat and vacation homes at Fort Gibson and Tenkiller Lakes. Her life had come full circle, as she spent much of her childhood at these two lakes.

Patty had a servant's heart, manifested in her generosity and hospitality. Those she touched were blessed by the experience. As time goes by we may forget exactly what Patty said or things she did, but we will never forget how she made us feel and Oh how much she made us laugh!

The last ten years of Patty's life was a culmination of health problems, one issue after another. At each step she would say, "It is what it is". Today she would caution us to make sure "it" counts.

Patty died Sunday, April 14, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, brother Frank Sanders; sisters Wilma Anglin, Wilda Bunyard and Wanda Sanders; nieces Barbara Nance and Debi Woodard and nephew Lenny Anglin. She is survived by her partner in life and laughs, Julie Lamprich, nieces Jannie Coleman and Connie Anglin, nephew Mike Murdock, Julie's nephew Justin Lamprich and wife Angela, in addition to many great nieces and great nephews, as well as a host of friends.

Donations can be made in Patty's name to any animal welfare or rescue of your choice.
