Patricia Ann Mishler Carey Gray

April 15, 1932 — March 10, 2024

Patricia Ann “Pat” Mishler Carey Gray was born in the Mishler family home in Cherokee County, Kansas, on April 15, 1932. Pat was the second of four children of Father, Wallace L. and Mother, Lily Ann Whitehead Mishler, who always ensured we attended Church, Sunday School, Bible School and all Revivals.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Michael Wallace and older sister Rita Jean Livingston. Her youngest sibling, Jo Karen Morgan survives her along with many beloved nieces/nephews whom she passed on her love for poetry, music, travel and so much more.

Pat was a lover of music and when she was a teen, was given a piano and lessons. She also played the trumpet in the Riverton Kansas High School band. She developed a love for classical music early in life. In 1954 she married Donald Carey, and they lived in Joplin Missouri before moving to Tulsa in 1956. She was Office Manager for 30 years for Dr. Galusha, Ophthalmologist. As a liaison for Galusha’s practice, Pat also delighted to teach seniors about the wonders of intraocular implants. She became a world traveler to Egypt, many spots in Europe including England, Ireland, Italy and many more. Genealogy was more than a past-time with Pat. She became known in many circles across the USA with her knowledge of her parent’s ancestors, striking up acquaintances with unknown lost relatives.

Church was always important to Pat wherever she lived and especially loved to ensure flowers and plants were in place at all services at Woodland Christian Church. She delighted in being asked to narrate Christmas programs using her elocution talents as she was given private lessons during High School years.

After husband Don passed away, she continued her travels and a few years later, when neighbor Everett Gray came calling with a jar of jam, her life changed with this loving gentleman when they married in 2004. Everetts family warmly welcomed Pat. However, in 2017 Pat once again became a widow with the loss of her dear Everett.

Pat inspired her beloved nieces and nephews with stories of her many travels, her love of music, tea parties, swimming, reading and poetry. She will be missed by her family, friends and neighbors. Sail on Patricia to your new home in Paradise with the Heavenly Father and the loved ones who’ve gone before you! You’ve left an empty space in our lives.
