Nancy Kay Lloyd, a radiant soul with a heart full of love and laughter, passed away on May 10, 2025, in her hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 81. She was a woman who danced through life — literally and figuratively — and left a trail of joy, sass, and sparkle wherever she went.
Born on June 8, 1943, in Tulsa, Nancy was a firecracker from the start. She lived boldly, loved deeply, and laughed often. She married the love of her life, Donald Eugene Lloyd, on June 22 — a nearly 40-year love story filled with travel, dancing, and more laughter than one home could hold. Don spoiled her endlessly, and she adored every second of it.
Nancy is survived by her loving children: Mark Lloyd (Jennifer), Donna Kashwer (Kevin), and Brenda Gillespie. Her legacy lives on brightly in her grandchildren: Kelsie Lloyd, Mollie Lloyd, Katy Birmingham (Joshua), Hunter Kashwer (Megan), Tyler Coday (fiancée Téa Roberts), Dalton Gillespie, and Katie Gillespie. She also leaves behind a beautiful brood of great-grandchildren: Jordann, Berkley, Krew, Lane, Oaklynn, and Jolee. Her dear brother Gary Moulton (Faye) survives her as well. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Bill & Cleo Moulton and her brother William “Billy” Moulton, Jr.
Nancy wore many hats in her working years — loan officer, principal secretary, clerical wizard — but her real calling was connecting with people. She was active in the community, most notably working for the Salvation Army, where she coordinated events and rubbed elbows with the likes of Peyton Manning, Emmitt Smith, Jay Leno, and even George Bush. She never met a stranger and made everyone feel like family.
A true lover of life, Nancy wasn’t just active — she was always on the go. She and Don were proud members of the Late Great Chevy car club and enjoyed many trips with their friends to car shows. Nancy joined in church activities such as the Choir, Bell Choir and quartet singing. Nancy was involved in a few different Bunco groups, some lasting over decades together. Nancy took the love of dancing even further later in life by getting her Zumba Instructor license at the tender age of 70. She loved her church Excercise Group and even brought her zumba skills to lead the warm up routines. Nancy loved getting groups of friends together, such as the Book Club (where they did more girl talk than book talk) and her Golden Girls who met often for many social gatherings. Loved hosting Oscar nights at her house. Traveling with her close friends for shopping, dining & a glass of wine to close the night.
She brought light and energy to every room.
Throughout her life, she was always present for her family which was her biggest joy. She was truly their biggest cheerleader. Nancy delighted in her grandchildren teaching her the latest dance crazes and always joined in with her own spunky dance moves, latest viral challenges, shopping trips — she was game for it all.
She never said no to an adventure. Her brownie sheet cake was legendary, her laugh was contagious, and her glass was always half full — with joy, with hope, and often, with wine.
Nancy Kay Lloyd was a woman who lived. She didn’t just show up — she shined. She made life feel like a celebration, and her spirit will continue to dance in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Now she dances among the stars, still smiling, still laughing, still the life of the party.
