Mitchel Janes, 74, a beloved father and son, was called to his eternal resting place on March 7, 2026.
Mitchel was born on September 30, 1951, in Watts, Oklahoma, to John and Helen Janes. From an early age, he developed a strong sense of independence and a natural ability to work with his hands. Those who knew him understood that if something needed fixing or building, Mitchel could figure it out. He was a skilled electrician with a deep interest in electronics and had a remarkable talent for constructing and repairing just about anything he set his mind to.
Throughout his life, Mitchel built most of the homes he lived in, a testament to his craftsmanship and determination. He enjoyed working outdoors and spending time hunting. In his quieter moments, he also enjoyed brewing his own beer and making his own wine and moonshine-hobbies that reflected both his creativity and his hands-on spirit.
Mitchel was known as someone who kept mostly to himself, preferring a simple and private life. Even so, he was deeply valued by those closest to him and will be remembered for his resourcefulness, independence, and the life he built through hard work.
He is survived by his son, Brad Janes; his grandson, Noble Janes; and his sisters, Linda, Debbie, and Janet.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Janes, along with numerous other family members who welcomed him into eternal rest.
Mitchel will be remembered for his strong will, his ability to create and repair almost anything, and the quiet life he lived on his own terms. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
