Mike Sanii

Mike M. Sanii, 95, passed away peacefully in Tulsa on June 29, 2025. He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Linda, and their daughter and son, Laurie Sanii (Rob Kriegel) and Michael Sanii. He is also survived by his brother Eddie Sanii and sister Touran, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mike had come to the U.S. in 1957 to pursue his education in petroleum engineering, graduating with a B.S. in petroleum engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla. After graduation Mike worked for several companies in the petroleum industry in Illinois, West Virginia, and Kentucky before settling with his family in Broken Arrow. He worked for Santa Fe Engineering in Tulsa as a petroleum reservoir engineer for an extended period. He sharpened his speaking skills by becoming a member of Toastmasters. These skills were an asset to his teaching mathematics at Tulsa Community College. Mike derived great satisfaction from passing on his technical knowledge and assistance to the students.

Mike had a passion for gardening, which was reflected in his yard full of flowers and trees he had selected and carefully watched over. This hobby brought him many hours of joy and satisfaction.

Mike had a beautiful smile, quick wit, and sense of humor. He was a wonderful husband and partner, father, and caring relative and friend. Mike will be missed but in our hearts forever.
