Michael Ray

Shane Ray passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the age of 55. Shane was born on October 16, 1970, in Thibodaux, Louisiana, to Joe and Joan (Paden) Ray. He shared his life with his friends and family , helping many through good and hard times. Working to shape outcomes of situations the best he could with what he had. He loved fericely and stood up for what he believed in. He lived his life as a HVAC technician he formed a tight group of friends that would last a life-time and mentored many young men teaching with patience and laughter.

An avid hunter and fisherman, Shane enjoyed being outdoors and connecting with nature, enjoying creation . He loved his dog, Junior, along with the many pets he had over the years. His family knew him as someone who would give you the shirt off his back. Someone who could find joy in the small things. His ornery laughter and his half cocked smile was contagious. He was genuin, simple, and kindhearted man as well as little stubborn and a bit of a procrastinator, qualities they will remember with a smile.

Shane shared a special bond with his daughter Breanna. She was always at his side, whether they were working together in HVAC or riding his Harley. He alway made sure she new she was special to him. To Breanna, he was the best dad a girl could ask for. It was a honor for her to call him Daddy.

Shane was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Demple and Earl Paden; As well as Alma Jo and Richard Ray . He is survived by his children, Breanna Wadley and her husband, Jonathon, and Chelsea Ray and Nick Staton and his wife Jessica Steele; his many grandchildren; his sister, Monica Grein and her husband, Peter; and his brother, Bryan and his wife, Wendy. He also leaves behind many other loving relatives and friends.
