Mary Ranae Dement

January 3, 1970 — August 24, 2023

With heavy hearts, we commemorate the life and legacy of Mary Ranae Dement, a remarkable soul who touched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on the hearts she encountered. Born on January 3, 1970, in Harrison, Arkansas, Mary's journey on this Earth came to a peaceful end on August 24, 2023, in Bixby, Oklahoma.

Mary's dedication to serving others shone brightly through her numerous mission trips to the Philippines, Haiti, and Mexico. Her unwavering faith and commitment to her church community were evident in her active involvement, particularly with the youth, where she shared her wisdom and kindness with the next generation.

During her high school years, Mary's love for music led her to play the clarinet in the marching band at Mannford High School, from which she graduated in the class of 1988. Her zest for life and thirst for adventure took her to explore the world, from backpacking to kayaking, embracing the beauty of nature with every step.

An avid lover of antiques, thrift stores, and garage sales, Mary had a knack for finding hidden treasures and cherished the stories behind each piece. Her enthusiasm for life extended to her role as an active mother who attended field trips and remained deeply involved in her children's lives.

Above all, Mary found immense joy in her role as Nanny to her cherished grandchildren. Her face would light up as she played with and adored each grandchild, with a special fondness for the littlest feet that she loved to shower with kisses.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, James Dement, and her children: Amber Wynne (Colton), Bethany Semrad (Peter), Alicia Tennison (Colton Greenwood), Aimee Bellot (Jed), John Dement, Matt Dement, Zachary Dement, Jacob Dement (Olivia), Kayla Dement, and Alexandra Webster (Lane). Her legacy continues through her treasured grandchildren: Sadie, Nash, Hayes, Garrett, Nataleigh, Kynnleigh, Allison, Jordan, Julien, Ryan, Wyatt, Grace, Brady, Juniper, Raelynn, and Waylon.

She leaves behind her mother, Lana Fowler, her sister Rachel Terry (Michael), step-sister Heather Loeffler, nephew/bonus son Kyle Jones, and nieces Caitlyn Boyd and Kelsi Loeffler. Mary was preceded in death by her father, Robert Short, and step-father Ray Fowler.

Mary Ranae Dement's life was a testament to love, faith, and the boundless capacity to touch lives and spread joy. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
