Martin Paul "JR" Fischer, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 18, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Known to most as JR-and as Papa to his youngest grandson - he was a self-proclaimed "farm boy" who found joy in life's simple pleasures: tractors, cows, and time with his grandson Nehemiah. His life was shaped by his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and his unwavering love for his family.
Born on June 22, 1950, to Martin and Magdalena Fischer, JR spent his early years on the farm with his 9 siblings in Edgely, North Dakota. Later his family moved to southern California, where he spent his teenage years and early adulthood and met his former wife, Debbie. Together, they had 8 children while living in California and later Oklahoma. After eventually returning to California, JR married his sweet wife Irene on May 28, 2005. JR and Irene shared a special love for the Lord Jesus Christ and their devotion to family.
JR's children were his biggest pride and joy in life. He worked tirelessly to provide for them as kids and to support them as adults. His patience, kindness, and selflessness made him an exceptional father, a devotion that was also shared with his wife, siblings, extended family, friends, employees, and all that knew him.
JR was also an entrepreneur and successful business owner who took pride in his work. He owned and operated Fischer Painting in California before continuing his career in Oklahoma with Martin Fischer Painting. Through his hard work, dedication, and determination, he built a business and a legacy that reflected the values he carried throughout his life.
Above all, JR was a man of faith. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ, prayed faithfully, and studied his Bible daily. We take comfort and joy in knowing that he is now in the arms of his Savior and that we will someday be reunited with him.
JR is survived by his wife, Irene; his children, Brandon (Ausra), Brock (Jeanette), Breezi, Mordecai, Miracle, and Shekinah; his grandchildren, Taylor, Chandlar, Trevor, Nehemiah, Chloe, and Allison; his daughter-in-law, Laura; his son-in-law, Ruben; his brothers, Eddie, Jerome, and Tom; his sisters, Lillian, Delores, and Mary; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He also leaves behind his beloved farm dogs (Coyote and Sophie) and his cows.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Magdalena; his former wife, Debora; his daughter, Brandee; his son, Nehemiah; and his sisters, Dorothy, Phyllis, and Darlene.
