Markeeta Diane Rosson, a resident of Beggs, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the age of 80. Diane, as she was affectionately known, was born on May 8, 1943, in Murphy, Oklahoma, to her loving parents, Joel and Nadine Downing (Langston)

In the late 1980s, Diane encountered the love of her life, Wilbur Hamilton, leading to a companionship of 34 years. Markeeta dedicated herself to various roles throughout her life, with a career as a Medical Transcriptionist, graduating from OSUIT in medical billing and coding and also held other jobs, such as cashier duties, and janitorial tasks and being a mother. She attended East Central High School and has resided in Beggs since 1975,

Among her most cherished roles were those of a devoted mother. Markeeta leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through her children: Mark Fleming and wife, Dawn of Casper, Wyoming, Tracy Fleming of Red Oak, Oklahoma, Tammi Fleming of Norman, Oklahoma, Kim Wesley, Kristie Jeffcoat, and Kasey Rosson, all of Beggs, Oklahoma. Including her 13 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren.

In her leisure time, Markeeta found joy in simple pleasures. She had a fondness for listening to western swing music, particularly the tunes of Bob Wills, and took delight in attending performances by the Swinging Ambassadors band, where her brother was a member who played the drums. Dancing and shopping were a couple other things she also loved.

Markeeta is preceded in death by her father, Joel Downing, and her mother, Nadine Downing (Langston), her brother, Darrell Downing and her son-in-law, John Holata. She leaves behind a wealth of fond memories with her family, as well as numerous other cherished relatives and a multitude of friends.
