Marian Gibson passed away with loving family by her side on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the age of 71 years. Marian was born on November 25, 1954, in Little Rock, Arkansas to her parents, Adler Eugene (Gene) and Laura Marie (Smith) Gibson. She attended Claremore High School, where she was known for her spirited personality and tomboy nature. She was top of her class in ROTC, and often told stories of her ROTC days. During her high school years, Marian had a love for excitement and could often be found drag racing, and embracing life with fearless enthusiasm. From Marian's teens to mid-twenties her love for the rodeo and horses fueled her passion for competition in barrel racing.
A talented and creative woman, Marian became an interior designer and even owned her own business for a time, sharing her eye for beauty and design with others. She was also deeply connected to her family's manufacturing business, Gibco, which was an important part of her life and legacy.
Above all, Marian cherished her role as a mother. She loved her son, Cameron, deeply and took great pride in raising him. She shared her love for travel with Cameron and they visited many beautiful places over the years. Their goal was to see as many states as they could, and they came close to that goal. Her love for family extended beyond motherhood-she was one of five siblings, and together they created countless memories playing card and board games, filling their time with laughter and connection.
Marian had a deep love for the water and enjoyed many days at Grand Lake, especially the thrill of fast boats and the joy of being surrounded by loved ones. She will be remembered as a very loving, giving, and vibrant woman who lived life fully and cared deeply for those around her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Adler Eugene (Gene) Gibson, Jr., mother Laura Marie (Smith) Gibson, sister Claudia Gibson Tarrington, brothers Michael Gibson, Rodney Gibson, and Mark Gibson. Marian leaves many loving memories with her son, Cameron; her nieces and nephews, Lisa Standlee, Michelle Akers, Laurie VanDyke, Nichole Gibson, Casey Gibson, Garrett Gibson, Kendall Gibson, and Connor Gibson; and 13 great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great nephew, and a host of friends who will miss her dearly.
