Lydia Lou Barnes

Lydia Lou Barnes, of Glenpool, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at the age of 84.

Lydia was born on November 16, 1941, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Hiram and Juanita (Perryman) Barnes. She spent her life building meaningful relationships, offering kindness to those around her, and living with quiet strength and grace.

Lydia dedicated many years of her career to the field of accounting, where she was known for her diligence, integrity, and attention to detail. Her strong work ethic and dependable nature earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike.

Outside of her work, Lydia found great joy in expressing her creativity. She loved making beautiful beadwork and creating handmade treasures through quilting and crocheting. Her talents were a reflection of her patient nature and artistic spirit, and those fortunate enough to receive one of her creations will cherish them for years to come. She loved to travel and see the world. Near or far she always enjoyed an adventure. She decorated her home with many of the beautiful photos she had taken on her travels.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hiram Barnes and Juanita (Perryman) Barnes, and her daughter Meredith Barnes.

Lydia leaves behind cherished memories with her cousin, Karla Kay Taylor, and dear friend, Beckie Freeman, as well as many other loving relatives, treasured friends, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness and friendship. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, warm heart, creative talents, and the lasting impact she made on those fortunate enough to know her.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service, 1329 East 151st Street South, Glenpool, Oklahoma, with Buster Hall officiating.
