Lois Rondoni went to be with the Lord Sunday morning, August 21, 2022 at the age of 88. Her family rejoices with her that she is in the presence of God.
She is survived by her 4 children, Susan Rondoni Grant, Pamela Carole Ascanio, Marlowe Paul Rondoni, and Marguerite Elaine Steele, their spouses, Scott Grant, Daniel Ascanio, Deborah Rondoni, and Mark Steele, 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, as well as by Marie Amoruso Jackson and Scott Southard whom she regarded as "bonus" children.
Lois was married to Max Rondoni until his death 12 years ago. Their lives were characterized by devotion to the cause of Christ, the spirit of hospitality- much aided by her great cooking, and activity in international missions including St. James Bible College and a Ukrainian Mission which included an orphanage, both based in Kiev. The Ukrainians were always to Lois, "those precious people."
Lois was deeply committed to the word of God and led many Bible studies over the years, including participation in Precept Ministries.
For many years, anyone could walk into the kitchen of their home in Menlo Park and find a warm welcome, consolation, vivid and pointed discussion about the things of God, laughter and music. And a café latte.
Her life was characterized by the words of the praise song:
"Give me one pure and holy passion;
Give me one magnificent obsession,
Give me one glorious ambition for my life-
To know and follow hard after you."
- William Murphy
She leaves her family, and other loved ones a testimony of faithfulness in following Jesus and keeping him uppermost in life and thought.
