She is lovingly survived by her husband, Glen Edward Britt, and her children: Rita Perryman (Tommy) of Catoosa, OK; Cheri Keeter (Jerry) of Catoosa, OK; Brenda Marcum (Danny) of Glenpool, OK; Debi Hall of Catoosa, OK; Robert Stedman of Catoosa, OK; Charlie Wooten (Carol) of Claremore, OK; Denny Wooten (Tina) of Catoosa, OK; and Gary Wooten of Welch, OK.
She is also survived by her stepchildren: Kyle Britt of Shawnee, OK, Kevin Britt of Mannford, OK.
Lois leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren, and three on the way!! Along with many other beloved family members and friends too numerous to mention.
In her early years, Lois moved with her parents to California, where they worked in the fields and took on various jobs. Eventually, she returned to Oklahoma and made her home in Catoosa, where she built a life centered on faith and family.
Her greatest joy in life was her family. She cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed garage sales, road trips, and finding good food-especially biscuits and gravy. She loved her roses and flowers and was always ready for the next outing or adventure.
Lois dedicated many years of service to Catoosa Public Schools as a cook and custodial worker. She was known for her homemade rolls, which many said would be "the Lord's delight." Lois had a heart for children and was known for her generosity-never allowing a child to go without lunch, often paying for meals out of her own pocket. Her love for others extended far beyond her own family. She also worked at the luggage plant in Claremore, OK, while raising her growing family. And in the early 1980s, Lois opened a diner that quickly became a favorite lunchtime spot and a special place where family gathered, laughed, and made lasting memories.
Known as "GG" or Grandma to many, Lois never met a stranger and loved everyone she encountered. Her strong faith was evident in her daily life, her love for the Bible, and the many angels displayed throughout her home. She enjoyed watching westerns, sipping Diet Coke, and answering the phone with her familiar phrase, "Hi, just sitting around doing nothing," which usually meant she was ready to go somewhere.
Lois also loved traveling and went on many cruises and various roadtrips. Holidays were filled with laughter, food, and planning the next family trip.
One cherished family memory recalls the time Lois and her daughter mistakenly got into the wrong car, thinking it belonged to another family member-and happily ate the donuts inside before realizing their mistake. Moments like these reflect the humor and joy she brought to those around her.
Lois leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, faith, and family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She now rests in a heavenly place, and we take comfort knowing she is with the Lord.
