Lissa Ann Turpin, 73, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Lissa was born on February 28, 1952, in Carthage, Missouri, to her parents Peter and Dorothy (Woodard) Lanyon. She grew up with a gentle heart, a bright spirit, and a deep love for the people around her.
Lissa worked as a paraprofessional, where her patience, kindness, and compassion touched countless lives. It was during her journey through life that she met the love of her life, David Turpin, with whom she built a family full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Lissa was a woman of many hobbies and simple joys. She loved watching TV, tending to her garden, doting on her beloved fur babies, and spending hours talking on the phone with those she cared about. She was kind, funny, sweet, giving, adventurous, compassionate, and incredibly hardworking. Her presence brought comfort, and her laughter brought joy.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David Turpin, and her parents, Peter and Dorothy Lanyon.
Lissa leaves behind a legacy of love through her family: her son Damian Turpin and his wife Lindsay; her daughter Melissa Whisenhunt and her husband Jeff; her grandchildren Karl Jaymz, Kimberly, Brock, Khristian and her significant other Daniel, Austin, Braxton, Braden, Blaine, and Landen; and her great-grandchildren Zander, Elena, and little Honey, who is soon to arrive. She is also survived by her brothers Bob and his wife Penny, and Bryce and his wife Phillis, along with many other beloved relatives and a host of dear friends.
To know Lissa was to love her, and her warm spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of being part of her life.
