Leonard Bibb

December 27, 1921 — April 27, 2003

Leonard S. Bibb, 81, left this world on Sunday, April 27, 2003 to be with Christ in heaven. Leonard was born in Redland, Oklahoma to Fannie and Charles Bibb on December 7, 1921. He graduated from Gans High School in 1941, and joined the U.S.M.C. shortly thereafter. Leonard served as a paratrooper with the Marines during World War II. After the war, Leonard was stationed at the San Diego Navel Base in San Diego, California where he met Anna Kinnick, who quickly became the love of his life. Anna and Leonard married in 1945 and moved to Berkeley, California. Leonard joined the City of Oakland Police Department and was an officer there for eight years before he retired early due to a disabling auto accident while on duty. Leonard and Anna moved their family to Oklahoma in 1955 where Leonard made lifelong friends wherever he lived. He was known for a great sense of humor and generosity by all that knew him. Although he was limited by health problems for the last ten years, he never complained and always kept his quick wit. Leonard was preceded in death by his brothers; Kepner Bibb of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jerry Bibb of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, and Jackie Bibb of Tulsa, Oklahoma. His surviving siblings are; Mabel Cramer of Arvin, California, Betty Holcomb of Lodi, California, Donald Bibb of Bakersfield, California, Joann Starkey of Bakersfield, California, Phyllis Sanchez, Monarch Beach, California and Carol Harvell of Muldrow, Oklahoma. Leonard was also preceded in death by his two sons; Larry of the home and Buddy Witt of Glenpool, Oklahoma. His surviving children are Gary Cody and Wife, Susan of Killeen, Texas, Patricia Smith and Husband, Tim of Edmond, Oklahoma, Kathryn Calvert and Husband, Mike of Glenpool, Oklahoma and Ken Howard of California. He also left behind 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. We will miss our €œBobba€ greatly. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: Feed the Children charitable organization at P.O. Box 36 Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73101.
