Lauren Ashley Pruitt Dewitt

Jan 13, 2002 — Sep 22, 2026

Lauren Ashley (Pruitt) Dewitt was born on January 13, 2002, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Travis Pruitt and Candace Woody. A beautiful soul with a heart full of love, a smile that could brighten a room, and a spirit all her own, Lauren was a precious gift to everyone whose life she touched. Though her time on this earth was far too short, the love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the memories she created will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her. Her absence leaves an ache that words can never fully express, because some people leave a mark on your heart that time can never erase. Lauren was one of those people.

Growing up between Sallisaw and Catoosa, Lauren built a life surrounded by family, friendships, and the little things that made her happiest. She graduated from Epic and went on to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant, a role that allowed her to share her caring heart with others. She loved working in nursing facilities and assisted living, where she could make a difference in the lives of those who needed kindness, patience, and compassion. Caring for others came naturally to Lauren, because love was simply a part of who she was.

Of all the beautiful things in Lauren's life, one of her greatest joys was the life she shared with her loving husband, Michael Tyler Dewitt. She treasured their life together and the love they shared.

Lauren had a beautiful way of making ordinary moments feel special. She loved being surrounded by the people who meant the most to her, whether that meant gathering around the dinner table, spending time with her siblings, laughing with friends, or simply enjoying a quiet day at home. She was a wonderful cook, and family dinners were never quite complete without Lauren preparing all her favorite side dishes.

She was every bit the girly girl, with a love for shopping, beautiful hair, fresh nails, and her favorite reality television shows. She enjoyed coloring and had a special talent for turning ordinary things into something beautiful. She loved her sweet dog, Milo, and found happiness in both life's little luxuries and its quietest pleasures. She loved the beach, where she could take in the beauty of the ocean and watch the sun sink slowly beyond the horizon. She also loved exploring museums and zoos, making memories with her siblings, and finding joy in the experiences she shared with the people she loved.

Lauren was a girl who was impossible to forget. She was funny in a way that could catch you completely off guard, full of personality, a little spicy, and never short on something to say. She spoke her mind and told it like it was, but beneath that bold spirit was a sweet and tender heart.

She was beautiful, inside and out. She was funny, spirited, loving, and entirely unforgettable. She was deeply cherished, and she will be missed more than words could ever say.

Lauren is survived by her beloved dog Milo, her husband, Michael Tyler Dewitt; her mother, Candace Woody; her father, Travis Pruitt, and his wife, Lacy; her grandparents, Paula Woody Metz, Marty Ross, Terry and Linda Pruitt; her great-grandparents, James and Barbara Hunt; her siblings, Jaden Pruitt, Joshua Pruitt, Kristen Rhodes, Aiden Woody, and Jax Pruitt; her aunt, Jennifer Fitzmaurice; her father-in-law, Michael A. Dewitt along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
