Lauren Suzanna Leigh Kelly passed away at home on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the age of 16.
Lauren was born on April 15, 2010, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Tim and Amanda (Warehime) Kelly. From an early age, Lauren possessed a wonderful curiosity about the world around her and a creative spirit that seemed to know no limits. She was truly a child who never knew boredom and never ran out of things to do.
Lauren was artistic, imaginative, and always eager to try something new. She loved crafts, paper mâché, drawing, and taught herself how to paint. Whether she was creating mushroom hats, drawing birds on her books, or starting another project simply because an idea caught her attention, Lauren was happiest when she was creating something with her own hands.
Her curiosity extended into nature as well. Lauren developed a special fascination with birds and insects and enjoyed learning about them, and they frequently found their way into her artwork. She was fascinated with architecture and often spoke of the beauty of buildings and churches.
Music was another important part of Lauren's life. She played the flute, loved to sing, and enjoyed musicals, with Hadestown, Chicago, and Hamilton among her favorites. Her taste in music was as unique and varied as she was, ranging from musical theater to Mitski, Adrianne Lenker, Sublime, Cake, and The Cure.
Lauren enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to experience Greece, Portugal, Ireland, Paris, and London. She also loved visiting the Performing Arts Center and experiencing music, art, and culture. Wherever she went, Lauren found something interesting to notice, learn about, or remember.
She had a style that was unmistakably her own. Lauren loved jewelry, especially rings, and could often be found with a ring on nearly every finger. Her favorite number was 13, another small but memorable detail that reflected the individuality she carried throughout her life.
Those who knew Lauren will remember her as sarcastic, funny, quick-witted, outgoing, loving, and fun. She had a memorable laugh and a determined, tenacious personality. Beneath her humor and strong spirit was a compassionate heart. Lauren cared deeply for people who were struggling and was willing to reach out to someone who needed kindness, encouragement, or simply a friend.
Lauren leaves many loving memories with her mother, Amanda Kelly; father, Tim Kelly; brother, Brenden; great-grandfather, Dan; grandparents, Mike and Connie, Jim and Ginger, and Rick and Karen; aunts/uncles, Justin and Meredith, Jason and Chrissy, and Bryan, along with many beloved cousins, extended family members, and a host of friends.
Although Lauren's life was far too short, the years she shared with those who loved her were filled with creativity, curiosity, music, laughter, adventure, and countless memories. She experienced the world in her own unique way and left an impression that will remain in the hearts of her family and friends for years to come.
Funeral services honoring Lauren's life will be held on October 13, 2026. Additional service details will be announced as they become available.
