In Loving Memory and Celebration of a Life Well-Lived: Lafonda Carol Bruner "FaFa"

September 24, 1962 - September 3, 2023

With both heavy hearts and joyous memories, we celebrate the incredible life of Lafonda Carol Bruner, fondly known as "FaFa," who danced her way into the arms of angels on September 3, 2023, at the age of 60. Born on September 24, 1962, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to her proud parents, Albert and Ruby Cothran, Lafonda lived a life that overflowed with love, laughter, and boundless joy.

Lafonda's calling was clear, and for 35 years, she donned the cape of a practicing nurse, dedicating herself to the care and well-being of others. For an astounding 33 of those years, she shone as a bright star at St. John's, where her kindness, compassion, and infectious spirit touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues alike. She was not just a nurse; she was a beacon of hope and healing.

Lafonda was a force of nature, a whirlwind of energy and positivity. She loved with a fierceness that could warm the coldest hearts and was a friend to everyone she met. Her vibrant spirit was infectious, and her presence alone could light up the darkest room. Lafonda's smile was a work of art, and her laughter was a symphony that will forever resonate in our hearts.

A true life enthusiast, Lafonda was the life of every party. Her zest for life was unparalleled, and she had an uncanny ability to turn even the most mundane moments into unforgettable adventures. Her boldness, kindness, and love for adventure were infectious, inspiring those around her to live life to the fullest.

Lafonda is survived by her adoring daughter, Stephanie Hurst, and her loving son, Zach Bruner. Her granddaughter, Emma Hurst, and her son-in-law, Jade Hurst, were all the apples of her eye. She leaves behind her father, Albert Cothran, and her brothers, Dwayne Cothran, Al Cothran, and Clay Cothran, who will forever cherish the memories they shared.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Albert Gerald and John Wendell, and her beloved mother, Ruby Mae Cothran. In their heavenly reunion, we find solace.

To honor and celebrate Lafonda's radiant life, a joyous gathering will take place on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service, located at 1329 East 151st St. Glenpool, OK 74033.

Lafonda's spirit was indomitable, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we remember the laughter, the adventures, and the boundless love she shared, may her memory continue to inspire us to embrace life with the same gusto and passion that she did.

In the words of Lafonda herself: "Life's a party, so dance like nobody's watching." FaFa, you danced beautifully, and your memory will forever keep the music playing in our hearts.
