Kenny Leroy Martin

October 28, 1955 — June 22, 2022

Kenny Leroy Martin, age 66 of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Leroy was born October 28, 1955, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to parents Kenneth Roy Martin and Anna Mae Martin. He grew up in the area and graduated from Will Rogers High School. While working at Bell's Amusement Park he met the love of his life, Marcy Cunningham, when they were assigned to work the Super Slide together. It was love at first sight, and the rest, as they say, is history. After two years of dating, they were married on June 15, 1974, and shared 48 years together. From this union they were blessed with two children, Andrew and Angela.

Leroy's father got him working at Allied Plumbing where Leroy excelled. He knew every part that was in stock and even those that weren't. Every plumber in the area knew they could always count on him to be able to solve the problem they were having. However, it was not only plumbers that relied on Leroy. He had a kind heart and generous spirit that was evident in everything he did. He was quick to help anyone in need and was a mentor to many young men over the years.

Through the years Leroy coached Andrew's baseball teams from T-Ball up past high school, and Angela's softball team for several years. He also coached football and other sports, but just one year of girl's basketball was enough for him! He loved his own sports too and took up golf later in life. He could often be found at the BA Golf and Athletic course. He never got a hole in one though, at least that anyone heard of, and we are sure we would have heard about it if he did.

Leroy was a jokester at heart, always hiding behind a corner to jump out and scare you, but that was how you knew he loved you. A good prank was as good as a hug from him. He was also a proud member of the Cherokee Nation and even took classes to try and learn the language.

He deepest love was for his grandchildren, as they were his number one joy in life.

Leroy is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Anna Mae, and his son, Andrew Derek Martin.

Survivors include his loving wife, Marcy Rene Martin; daughter, Angela West; grandchildren, Alexa Martin, Colby Martin, Jorryn West, Jhayden West, Lexi Paulson, and Haley Griffin; brothers, David Martin and Tom Martin; sister, Joanna Johnson; and many other nieces nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and great friends.
