Kenneth Edward Adkins

Kenneth Edward Adkins passed away with loving family by his side on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the age of 81 years.

Kenneth was born on March 2, 1940, in Wetumka, OK to his parents, Edward and Florence (Blankenship) Adkins. Kenny grew up in Wetumka and graduated from Wetumka High School.

He met the love of his life, GearlDene Jenkins. They were married on May 30, 1971, in Reno, Nevada.

Kenny was a pipeline welder for 17 years, traveling all over the US and overseas on his jobs. In 1970, while working on a job in Washington state, he was involved in a pipeline cave in. He suffered several serious injuries that ultimately ended his pipelining career. Kenny went on to be an instructor at Tulsa Welding School before starting his next career as an owner of his own business, a retail liquor store in Sand Springs.

After 25 years of running their liquor store, Kenny and GearlDene sold the store and "retired". They enjoyed traveling together in their motorhome throughout forty-five states, Canada, Alaska and Mexico. They made lot of Good RV Friends over the years. Spending the winters in South Texas, fishing in the Gulf, going to the Big Flea Market and shopping in Mexico.

Kenny was a member of Elks Lodge for the past 33 years. Kenny and GearlDene were members of St. Mathews Church.

He is preceded in death by parents, Ed and Florence Adkins; sisters, Beverly and Lanita; sons, Mark, Brent, and Carl.

Kenny leaves many loving memories with his family, wife and best friend, GearlDene; sister, Geneva Hughes; sons, Billy and wife Pam, Thad, and Paul; granddaughters, Alicia and husband Mitch, Summer and America; grandsons, Luke and Larry; brother-in-law and best friend, Rex Parker; along with many other loving relatives and a host of neighbors and friends.

Celebration of Kenny's Life will be 11:00 AM December 4, 2021, at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service Chapel, 719 East 141st Street, Glenpool, Oklahoma with Paul Ozbun officiating. Family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in Kenny's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/.
