Karen Carson died on August 30, 2016 in Tulsa, OK due to complications related to Parkinson's. She was 75.
Karen was born on July 11, 1941, in Amherst, Ohio, to David and Suzanne Davis. She graduated from Notre Dame College and from the University of Toledo with a master’s degree in education. She married Jerry Carson in 1964. They lived in Toledo, Ohio and Weston, Connecticut, before they moved to Tulsa in 1986, when Jerry started work at Williams Companies.
Karen, a teacher who worked with special needs children, was involved in Toledo's Head Start Program. She enjoyed golf, traveling, and serving as a docent at the Philbrook Museum of Art.
Karen is survived by her daughters, Barbara Carson of Tulsa and Dawn Carson-Bays of Dallas, and son-in-law, David Bays. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry.
A memorial will take place on September 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Montereau's Warren Chapel, 6800 S. Granite Ave, Tulsa, OK 74136. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Karen’s life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
