Judy Nan Shelton

January 10, 1941 — April 20, 2026

Judy Nan Shelton, age 85, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, in Bixby, Oklahoma.

Judy was born on January 10, 1941, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Edward and Christine Raper. Her life was marked by love, resilience, and a story that came full circle in a truly remarkable way. As a young girl of just 14, Judy met Carroll "Lee" Shelton, who would later become her husband. Their early years were filled with youthful adventure-Lee even taught Judy how to drive, and together they once stretched the truth about her age in hopes of starting their life together sooner. Though life took them in different directions when Lee was drafted into military service, fate had other plans. Decades later, in 1983, their paths crossed once again. Judy moved to Tulsa to be with Lee, and the two were married that same year, beginning a beautiful new chapter together.

Following retirement, Judy and Lee embraced a life of travel, spending over 30 years exploring the country in their RV. Their journeys eventually led them to settle in Brownsville, Texas, where they spent several cherished years before returning to the Tulsa area about three years ago.

Judy had a creative spirit and found great joy in crafting. She especially loved quilting and working with stained glass, leaving behind handmade treasures that will be cherished by her family for generations.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister.

Judy is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Carroll "Lee" Shelton; her daughter, Jennifer; her stepchildren, Lynn, Mike, and Anthony; as well as her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

Judy will be remembered as a woman who was small in stature but immense in heart-determined, sweet, kind, loving, and just a little bit competitive. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome and loved, and her presence brought warmth and light to those around her.

Services have been entrusted to Schaudt Funeral Service. Friends and family are invited to leave condolences and share kind words of comfort at www.schaudtfuneralservice.com.

Judy's life was a testament to enduring love, second chances, and the beauty of a life well-lived. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
