In Loving Memory of Jerry Lynn Wages

Jerry Lynn Wages, a beloved husband, father, and skilled artisan, departed this world on January 25, 2024, at the age of 76 in Mounds, Oklahoma. He was born on July 21, 1947, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to his parents, William and Geraldine Wages.

Jerry's formative years were spent in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, where he graduated from Sallisaw High School. His pursuit of education continued at Oklahoma State University, where he earned his associate degree.

Early in life, Jerry encountered the love of his life, Carol, and they exchanged vows in 1965 at the Assembly of God Church in Sallisaw. Their union lasted for 58 years, a testament to Jerry's unwavering commitment and devotion. Carol fondly remembers Jerry as a wonderful husband, a compassionate caregiver who stood by her side through sickness for over 15 years, acting as her dedicated caregiver. Even during Carol's extended hospital stay, Jerry remained a steadfast presence, watching over and protecting her. Carol cherished every moment with Jerry, navigating life's challenges together.

Jerry's professional journey began as a Diesel Tech Engineer/Mechanic, a career he pursued until a life-altering accident. Undeterred, he pivoted and established his own business-an upholstery venture that became his true calling. Jerry's craftsmanship was unparalleled, with each piece bearing the mark of his artistic prowess. Notably, he created a couch for Roy Clark, showcasing his ability to match patterns and create seamless designs. His attention to detail and commitment to perfection made him a master in his field.

A devout Christian, Jerry's love for the Lord was evident in his daily life. He dedicated his time to praying and reading the word of God. Known for his selflessness and willingness to help others, Jerry was a shining example of love and compassion.

Among his favorite pastimes were fishing, bowling, and indulging in his love for barbecuing. Jerry's infectious laughter and ever-present smile were reflections of his joyous spirit.

He is survived by his loving wife Carol and their cherished son, Jerry Lee Wages and wife Kristann and their daughters; Bethany Wages and husband Kyle and Kaitlin Jones and her daughter Kyana Jones.

At this time, no services are planned. Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service, located at 1329 East 151st St. Glenpool, OK 74033.
