In Loving Memory of Jerry C. Puryear

On May 12, 1945, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jerry C. Puryear was born to Insull and Lorayne Puryear, marking the beginning of a life filled with love, adventure, and cherished connections. On Sunday, February 18, 2024, at the age of 78 years, Jerry bid farewell to this world, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, friendship, and unforgettable memories.

Jerry's devotion to his family was unmatched. He adored his children, Lisa Roth, her husband Rob, and Ernie Puryear, and took immense pride in his grandchildren, Jonathan and Audrey Roth. His journey began in Tulsa, where he attended Will Rogers High School before bravely serving his country in the Air Force. It was during this time that he met Loreen Pazaski, his beloved wife and the mother of his children. After his service, Jerry pursued higher education, earning an accounting degree from Northeastern State University. True to his promise to Loreen, the family relocated to her hometown of Olympia, Washington, where Jerry worked as a controller for JD Dutton Construction for many years.

In 1992, Jerry returned to Tulsa, where he established his business of boat storages on the family property in Sand Springs. His vibrant presence lit up every room he entered, and his distinctive deep voice left an unforgettable impression on all who knew him. Jerry valued friendship above all else, maintaining lifelong bonds from his high school and college days. He cherished his dogs as cherished companions and considered his friends as family.

Jerry's zest for life knew no bounds. An accomplished water skier, he dazzled crowds with his slalom, trick skiing, and barefoot skills. His love for adventure extended to his passion for Harley Davidsons, a lifelong companion that accompanied him on countless journeys. As the "cool dad" to his children's friends and even his grandchildren's friends, Jerry's genuine interest in their lives and knack for remembering names made him a beloved figure to all.

A true entrepreneur at heart, Jerry developed a computer program, Post & Profit, in the 1990s, showcasing his innovative spirit and intellect. He understood the value of quality time spent together, whether it was playing cards, cooking, or simply enjoying each other's company. His gift for making others feel important through his genuine presence will be deeply missed but forever treasured.

As we bid farewell to Jerry, let us celebrate a life well-lived-a life characterized by love, laughter, and unwavering friendship. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service, where family and friends may share kind words of comfort, special memories, and condolences online at www.schaudtfuneralservice.com.
