It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Dale McClellan, a devoted family man, hardworking professional, and beloved member of the community. Jerry, born on April 19, 1943, in Bakersfield, CA, peacefully left this world on December 15, 2023, in Tulsa, OK, surrounded by the love of his family.
Jerry's life was marked by dedication and tireless work in various refinery positions, a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his loved ones. His passion for his craft earned him respect among colleagues, and his diligence set a standard that will be remembered by those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Beyond his professional achievements, Jerry was a man of diverse interests and a zest for life. He found great joy in exploring the world, often embarking on unforgettable trips with his grandchildren. From the awe-inspiring Royal Gorge to the majestic Grand Canyon, Jerry cherished these moments, creating lasting memories that will be cherished by generations to come.
Jerry had a love for speed, evident in his fondness for NASCAR and OU football. He also enjoyed the thrill of horse racing and found solace in the tranquility of gardening. His meticulous care extended beyond his hobbies to his home, where he maintained an immaculate yard that reflected his pride in his surroundings.
Jerry's devotion extended to his family, as he celebrated 59 years of marriage with his beloved wife Ruby. Together, they built a life rich in love, laughter, and shared experiences. Jerry leaves behind a legacy of enduring commitment and partnership that will serve as an inspiration to all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife Ruby and their three children: Kim Pestel (Rick), Jim McClellan (Michelle), and Janet Lynch (Mickey). Jerry's memory will also be carried on by his grandchildren: Kristen McConnell, Sydni McConnell, Christy Noland (Jeremy), Veronica Wall (Isaac), Aubrey McClellan, Chase McClellan, Brooks McClellan, Garrett Noe, Gavin Noe, Emerson Noe, Lindsey Lynch, and Bo Lynch. He will be fondly remembered by his great-grandchildren Hunter, Colton, Ember, and Liberty. Jerry is also survived by his brother David McClellan (Freida) and sister Billie Hewes. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Leo and Faye McClellan, and his brother Nelson McClellan.
A visitation will take place on Monday, December 18, 2023, from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service, where family and friends will gather to honor the memory of a man whose impact on their lives will endure. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service.
