Jeannine Weston Bogie, age 96, left this world for her heavenly home on June 5, 2010 in Okmulgee. She was born on February 3, 1914 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to William D. Collier and Martha Pauline Collier. Jeannine was a graduate of Classen High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After high school she attended Oklahoma State University where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition. After receiving her BS degree, she later received her Masters Degree from the University of Texas. After her education, Jeannine was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, where she served as a hospital dietician at Camp Berkeley, Texas. After two promotions, first to First Lieutenant and later to Captain, she was transferred to Camp Maxey, Texas. After five years of faithful service to the U.S. Army, Jeannine was separated from her military service career after being discharged at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Preceding her in death were both her mother and father; a sister, Laveta Johnson; and her husband, Ernest Bogie. Jeannine was an active member of The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Okmulgee. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at the Okmulgee Cemetery with Jack Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow the service under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Open Gate c/o The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer 213 N. Seminole Ave Okmulgee, Ok 744447.
