Jean Ella Watkins

Jean Birdsall Watkins died Sunday, July 7, 2019, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on September 26, 1938, and lived in Barnegat, Ocean County, New Jersey, graduating from Barnegat High School, with the class of 1956, and attended New Jersey College of Commerce. In 1968 she married Jack Dean Watkins of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and they moved Tulsa.

She was employed in the legal field all her adult life, both in Tulsa, and New Jersey, and spent twenty-one years in the legal department of Texaco.

Jean and Jack were avid travelers, both foreign and domestic. For forty-three years she was a member of the Brookhaven Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and was choir director there for twenty-six years. She was a devout animal lover and was one of the founders, and sat on the board of the Pet Adoption League in Tulsa.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Dean Watkins; foster sister, Irene Moore; niece, Jeannette Craig; great-niece, Leia Craig; and her beloved dog, Nelson.

A memorial service for Jean will be held at 10:00 AM, July 16, 2019, at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service.
