With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we share the passing of Jarod Willie Mosquito, age 42, on July 2, 2025. Born on March 25, 1983, in Claremore, Oklahoma, Jarod was the beloved son of Craig and Debbie Mosquito. His presence was a light in the lives of so many, and his absence leaves an unfillable space in our hearts.
Jarod was known for his warm spirit and easygoing nature. He was loving, caring, funny, and undeniably handsome, with a smile that could brighten even the darkest day. Whether he was making someone laugh, lending a helping hand, or just being his laid-back self, Jarod had a way of making people feel seen, loved, and valued. He never met a stranger and never turned away someone in need. He was always busy-whether working, joking around, or making music-but always found time to connect with those he cared about.
A talented rapper, singer, and songwriter, Jarod poured his heart into music. His soft-spoken voice carried power and purpose through his lyrics. He was a natural athlete who played sports his entire life, with a special love for fast-pitch softball. He was a devoted fan of the OKC Thunder, Boston Red Sox, and the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
More than anything, Jarod was a devoted father. To his children-Jarod Jr., Jamison, and Jaydn-he was a hero and a best friend. He made life feel like an adventure. His days were filled with laughter, play, stories, and unconditional love. In their words, "He was the kind of dad who made life feel like an adventure. He was fun and full of laughter, always ready with a joke, a game, or a story that lit up our world. Through his presence, we learned the meaning of love, strength, and kindness. His legacy lives on in our hearts, in the way we love, laugh, and care for others-just like he taught us. Love you 3000."
Jarod is preceded in death by his grandparents Joe and Lena Mosquito, and grandmother Mary Shirley. He is survived by his father Craig Mosquito; his mother Debbie Mosquito; his sister Shanhdea McIntosh and her husband Anthony; his brothers Jacob and Jayce; his children Jarod Jr., Jamison, and Jaydn; nieces and nephews Jalen, Jaxon, Gracie, Michaela, Alex, Jerean, Zoe, Trajan, Jayce Jr., Boston, Amelia, Mya, and Emily; and his loving aunts and uncles Rex and Robbie Mosquito, and Terri and Charlie Kane.
Jarod's legacy is one of love, laughter, music, and unwavering kindness. His memory will live on in all who knew and loved him.
