Janice Margery Parker

May 2, 1934 — January 29, 2026

Janice Margery Parker, 91, a truly extraordinary woman whose grace, intelligence, and adventurous spirit touched all who knew her, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Janice was born on May 2, 1934, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Giles and Francis (Hall) Larkin. Her father worked in the oil business, a path that would later shape the course of her own life. She attended Wayland Academy in Wisconsin, where her sharp mind, confidence, and love of learning were already evident.

She married the love of her life, Laurence David Parker Sr., on September 11, 1952. Laurence had known Janice's parents before he even met her-a connection that seemed to foreshadow the life they would build together. Their marriage spanned decades of devotion, partnership, and adventure.

Through Laurence's career in the oil industry, Janice traveled extensively across the world. She lived overseas for many years, embracing new cultures, forming lifelong friendships, and creating memories that would become treasured stories for her family. No matter where life took her, Janice brought warmth, elegance, and resilience with her.

After retirement, Janice and Laurence settled in Arkansas, where she found great joy at their beloved lake house in Hot Springs Village. The home sat right on the water-a place where she felt most at peace. She loved fishing on the lake, watching the sunsets, and welcoming family and friends into a space filled with laughter and love.

Janice was a master bridge player for many decades, playing countless games both overseas and at home. Above all, Janice was deeply devoted to her family. Her kindness, strength, and quiet compassion were hallmarks of her character.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurence D. Parker Sr., and her beloved daughter-in-law, Loretta Parker. She is survived by her loving children: Laurence David Parker Jr., Cynthia Louise Parker and her spouse, Blair Davis and Louis Dwayne Parker. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Nathan and his wife, Katie, Brenten and his wife, Megan as well as Javier and his wife, Senaida; and her adored great-grandchildren: JoslynEllianaEliana, Eden, Josephine, Isaiah, Evan and Christopher.

Janice Margery Parker lived a life rich in love, travel, family, and friendship. Her strength, intelligence, humor, and unwavering devotion will be remembered always. She leaves behind a legacy of grace and adventure that will continue through generations.
